Scott Gill has provided clinical psychology services to help adolescents and young adults for more than 20 years. He is a licensed clinical psychotherapist in a private group practice and the Director of Student Services in an independent school, providing psychological support for elementary, middle, and high school students.

Scott enjoys helping people improve and acts as a teacher, motivator, and mentor. As a Mental Performance Consultant, Scott believes in the fundamental value of two simple questions. First, what is really happening right now? Second, what can be done differently at this moment? His work is rooted in Mindfulness and Positive Psychology. It aims to enhance performance by promoting a non-judgmental, present-moment awareness and acceptance of one’s thoughts and emotions along with a commitment to our next positive action. This philosophy applies whether you are an athlete or simply a person seeking to live a better life. His process is collaborative, confidential, professional, and geared to helping athletes and performers of all types to gain a mental and emotional edge and pursue their potential in sport and life.

Athletic Background
Scott competed at an elite level in Soccer. Scott grew up playing Soccer and Ice Hockey. Scott competed for The Peddie School in high school and earned New Jersey All-State recognition in Soccer. Scott continued his athletic success at Wheaton College in Massachusetts and earned an athletic scholarship to Rider University in New Jersey. Scott plays Ice Hockey and Soccer on various men’s teams and ran in the Newport RI half marathon. Scott has also coached athletes at the varsity, junior varsity, and middle school levels in Soccer.

With his many years of coaching, playing, and counseling experience, Scott brings a deep understanding of the challenges that athletes face today and is passionate about helping athletes achieve their goals on the field and in life. He believes strongly in the power of relationships. He strives to create an environment of mutual respect, a space where he can have honest, meaningful conversations because when you feel comfortable in sessions, you can gain the ability to bring real change into your life. Scott commits himself to help people strengthen their emotional well-being, gain insight and understanding around triggers and reactions, and implement the necessary tools to control their lives and achieve their goals.
