Meghan Johnson is an intern with Newtown Sport Performance Psychology currently working towards her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at Eastern University. Meghan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training with a minor in Psychology from Eastern. She currently works as the head Athletic Trainer for the Agnes Irwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA. Meghan pursued a degree in counseling after seeing a need within the athletic community that she serves. Marrying the fields of sports medicine and counseling to better provide care to her patients and student athletes is one of her main interests.

Athletic Background
Meghan’s passion for sports medicine and mental health in athletics began in her own career as a competitive athlete. Meghan played softball collegiately at Eastern University, where she was a pitcher before transitioning to the outfield. She served as a captain for Eastern in herĀ 5th and 6th seasons at the university. Meghan was faced with a medical hardship as well as eligibility with the Covid-19 pandemic, allowing her the opportunity to play softball for the Eagles while obtaining her Master’s degree. Meghan also began her coaching career in 2021 with the 14u PA Cheetahs.
